Favorite Skincare Products

Hello blog readers! Today I thought I would share some amazing skincare products that I love and use. I decided to include both drugstore and high-end products to suit anyone's budget.

The first product is Elizabeth Arden's Good Night's Sleep cream. This is a slightly pricey one, especially since you don't get much for your money. Although the price is quite cringe-worthy, I'm so glad I purchased it. It's a rich, luxurious texture that instantly hydrates even the most dry of skin. My skin personally quite dry, and putting this on my skin at the end of the day feels actually amazing.
This is the Elizabeth Arden Cream Cleanser for Dry and Sensitive skin. Since it's again quite pricey, I tend to save this cleanser for times when I don't have very many blemishes or spots that need more intense treatment. It's super hydrating and refreshing to use.
This Cetaphil moisturizer is actually AMAZING. I bought this because I ran out of moisturizer and just needed a new one. I found this and picked it up just because I wanted to try something new. Its consistency is quite thick, and suits my skin perfectly. If you have more oily skin, you might not like this one. I put this on morning and night, and keeps my skin feeling hydrated all day long.
This is the St. Ives Oatmeal scrub. This caught my eye as I was searching for something to help tame my red and sensitive dry skin. This scrub is incredible! Just after the first use, it soothed my irritated skin and helped remove any flaky skin from my face (ew). Because the scrub beads in this formula are so small, it is one of the gentlest scrubs I've ever tried. I recommend this scrub for any skin type!

And this last product is the Clinique all about eyes serum. I tried the tester of this and absolutely loved it, so of course I had to get the full size! It's so soothing for the skin around my eyes and really helps with any puffiness. I like to put this on in the morning, and it really helps to wake up my eyes. I love this product so much; I'm sure I'll buy it again when this one runs out!

Notably Natural

Hello blog readers! The other day, I visited an insane asylum! Well, what used to be one. This massive estate of buildings was built in 1885 in Traverse City, Michigan to house patients in need of care. It was really interesting to tour around it and learn about its history. Obviously, the state redid all of the buildings and repaired everything to safe standards for modern life. They turned the basement levels into merchant shops and the upper levels into yoga studios, insurance offices, and even apartments. I don't know if I would like to live there... just walking through the basement gave me the heebie-jeebies. They had old asylum wheelchairs here and there which just added to the creepiness. However, there were so many charming little shops I simply had to stop in.

As I wandered through the basement corridors of the building, I stumbled upon a natural beauty shop. I got really excited because aromatherapy and natural healing really interest me. Here are some snapshots I got of this cute little shop.
They had all sorts of products: serums, lotions, creams, oils, soaps, powders, and salves. They even set out a series of "try-me" samples for you to test out the products for yourself. I was smelling mighty floral-y when I walked out!
Look at all of the soaps! I stood here quite a while smelling all of the delicious smells. I've never seen so many bars of soap in one place at once!
I had never heard of emu oil before I found this shop. Apparently it's very beneficial for the skin.
Thanks for reading!

The Best Easter

As yesterday was Easter Sunday, I thought it would be a good occasion for a little outfit of the day! Easter is always a fun time for eating lots of chocolate and feeling like a kid again. I will never get tired of Easter egg hunts!
The necklace I'm wearing is a super cute Buddha charm necklace from @sevenstarstore on Instagram! I absolutely love this necklace and I wear it almost every day. Check out their Etsy shop! www.sevnstars.etsy.com

I had such a wonderful day yesterday, and although I may not be basking in a tropical location this week, I'm content with the fresh Michigan temperatures. I hope you all had a lovely Sunday. Until next time,

50 of the Best Feelings in the World

Sometimes, the best feelings in the world are the simplest. Sure, it's nice to go out for a fancy meal, go splurge at Sephora, or break your bank account at Urban Outfitters. Even though these things feel great and seem so right at the time, they can't beat these:

1. Waking up in the morning and feeling refreshed and awake. (I know, seems like a crazy fantasy, but you can make it happen by breaking up with Twitter before three in the morning).
2. Drinking hot chocolate in front of the fireplace. Feeling warm inside and out. It's wonderful, okay?
3. Being excited for people to open presents from you. (And opening presents: not gonna lie here, it's so much fun to open presents and everyone knows that).
4. Taking a bite of food when you're really hungry
5. Finally reuniting with someone you've missed and giving them a huge hug.
6. Getting in the lake after you've been baking in the sun. (Don't judge me, I end up burning anyhow).
7. The first drink of a pop. I always giggle a little because it tickles.
8. When people actually laugh at your jokes/understand your humor. It always makes me feel good about myself.
9. Getting into bed after a long day. Sighing of relief because you survived a day of annoying people and drama galore.
10. Good books. The ones you can't put down that you read for hours. The ones that make you actually enjoy reading something other than your crush's Twitter feed.
11. Stepping into a hot bath

Snowy snow days

You know it's gonna be a good day when the snow starts blowing and drifting in massive heaps that make you so badly want to jump right in. Here are some pictures that I captured while squinting through the wind (sorry if they're out of focus).
Things seem so much more cozy when it's snowy out. Here are some of my favorite things to enjoy during these days
(A cute doggy to cuddle)
Hot drinks and good books=the best combo
Stay warm and stay safe everyone (and have a fantastic snow day)!!
Much love,
Audrey
