CHRISTMAS!

IT'S FINALLY CHRISTMAS! I've been waiting for today for 365 days; I'm sure many of you have as well. (I'm typing this in my jammies and I only changed for the outfit of the day haha). Right now I'm sat eating ribbon candy and smelling the delicious festive smells of Christmas dinner cooking, and the spicy sweetness of my cinnamon candle burning next to me. I've had such a lovely day today, and it's not even over yet! Now, onto the outfit that I wore for approximately ten minutes today. ;)

I hope you all had a very happy Christmas, with lots of food, gifts, lights, and joy. Go find someone you love and give them a squeeze. (Also, eat loads of good food: new years call for a little weight loss anyway)
Much love, Audrey

Cozy Mondays

There's nothing I love better than coming home from a stressful day of school and hopping in comfy clothes, making myself a cup of tea, lighting a few candles, starting up the fireplace, and finally tuck myself up with a good book. Last weekend was my birthday weekend, which was such a wonderful time. I love being with all my favorite people and I just had such a lovely sweet sixteen!
Herbal tea, apple spice candle, and Alexa Chung's "IT"

I am currently reading "It" by Alexa Chung. It is soooooo good!!! If you don't already own it, buy it! It's so worth the money and I don't think I'll ever regret buying it.

Now I'm snuggled up on the couch with my favorite doggy friend, enjoying a hot cup of tea and watching the cute little sunset tonight. I hope you all had a lovely day and I'll see you soon!

Much love,
Audrey

Autumn Room Decor

Hello everyone! What lovely weather for a cozy night in; complete with warm sweaters, hot tea, a good book, and pumpkin spice candles! That's what my night will consist of this rainy, cold October day. Recently, I've been really into interior design and decorating. So.. last night I dropped into a little dollar store and chose a few bits and bobs to refresh my room with. Enjoy :)

So at my desk, I filled a clear vase with faux leaves and a little bouquet of faux autumn-colored flowers. I thought they looked so nice together and it really adds a lot of detail and color to my plain brown desk. I put my little table clock right next to it along with this tin  cup with a little tea candle in it. As you can see, I was a little hungry so placed alongside my clock is some popcorn and hot tea. And I just filled a basket with the remaining faux leaves. This is one of my favorite spaces in the room.

Next to my desk, I keep my laundry basket (with a cheeky little kitty inside), and a smaller basket next to that with a few toys for Bella the dog.
Now moving onto my dressing table. Here I have a plaque that says 'When I count my blessings, I count you twice' that my brother gave me for Christmas last year, a teacup full of hair pins, a small glass tree, another teacup and saucer with some of my everyday makeup inside, and a few candles to top it all off. Next to my dressing table, I have a full-length mirror for checking out my outfit ;)

Now, here is my bed with my little dreamcatcher and a special guest appearance from Bella the dog! I have a huge selection of pillows, a comfy duvet, and loads of sheets and blankets perfect for a cold day like today.
Also as a side note, I don't exactly have a room (my brother and I share) we decided to buy an outdoor gazebo and hung brown curtains around the perimeter. It's so nice having my own space and I always look forward to having some alone time. I strung some colored lights around the perimeter and a few icicle lights from the top for lighting. Sorry about the poor quality, it should be better soon. I hope you all enjoyed my little "room" tour and have wonderful rest of the evening! :)

~Autumn Outfit Inspiration~

Hello everyone! Today, my best friend and I were dinking around putting together outfits for a little photo-shoot. Autumn is my favorite season, both for fashion and for the weather and cozy times. There's nothing I love better than layered clothing, hot tea, and a good book on a cool autumn day! Although today it was quite hot, feeling a bit like summer, autumn was in the air. I'm so excited to share these outfits I've put together for you! Thanks for your help Chummy :)

So for this first outfit, I went for some simple black denim jeans paired with a jean jacket from a thrift shop. Layered under it, I had a slip dress from Victoria's Secret (tucked in of course) with a bit of lace at the neckline. The colors looked so nice together and our shooting location was perfect! My shoes are by Enzo Angiolini, which I amazingly found at a thrift shop. They are my go-to fall boots and they look so nice on as well!
Here I am looking silly as usual! For this outfit, I paired a simple black and white stripe T-shirt dress from Target with a light wash denim shirt also from Target. As for shoes, I choose some all-black high top Converse. I love this look for a particularly warm day, such as today, as I hate the feeling of being over-heated!

For this outfit, I went for a girly look, not often what I'd normally go for, but I love this look. I have on a white puff-sleeved shirt from Forever 21, a black skirt from Target, and sandals from Target. My rose gold watch is from Target as well. I loved shooting for this look, as it was the first one we did, and we really got into it!

Now this outfit is one of my favorites! I just have a simple black sweater from Goodwill, trousers from American Eagle, and some interesting black booties from Choies. This look is super comfortable, quite colorful, and most importantly: cute!! I will definitely be wearing this in the near future!

And for the final look, I went for an interesting combination with monochromatic layering. I have on a thrifted halter top, black trousers, and those black booties again! This look again is so comfy, so cute, and, well, different. My style certainly is quite unique, but I urge you to try out these looks for yourself, or get some inspiration for your own autumn outfits! I had so much fun doing this shoot, there's sure to be more soon. Thank you so much for stopping by,
Much love, Audrey

~Pink Smoothie Recipe~

Hello everyone! Today I thought I would share a healthy pink smoothie recipe with you all! It's super simple and quick to whip up on your way to work, school, or an athletic practice (not to mention it's also super yummy).

Ingredients:

organic strawberries
pineapple
greek yogurt
coconut water
flaxseed
honey

So to start off, I sliced up my selection of fruit and popped them into the green blender container. The amount of fruit is up to you. I like quite a lot of fruit in my smoothies! Next, I added a few tablespoons of Greek yogurt. This makes your smoothie so much richer and full of healthy antioxidants and not to mention loads of protein!
Now let me rant a little about flaxseed. In just two tablespoons of this, it delivers as much fiber to your system as 1 1/2 cups of cooked oatmeal! You can literally put it in everything, and I often forget it's even in there! It's also jam packed of natural antioxidants called Lignans. They promote healthy cell growth and overall health. In order to get the about of lignans that are in flaxseed, you would need to eat about 30 cups of broccoli! So, buy flaxseed. Okay I'm done, back to the recipe.
So I popped a few tablespoons of flaxseed meal into the smoothie blender.
To finish it off, I poured a great glug of coconut water. This stuff tastes delicious, and it's great for your system.
For a little extra flavor and yummy "sugar", I drizzled a bit of honey on top, screwed the lid on, and got to blending!

After it was finished, it looked so good, I simply couldn't wait to dig in! It's a pretty pink color, of course, and it was just delicious!!

As I type now, I'm enjoying this healthy, yummy smoothie here. I can't wait for more smoothies to come and hopefully, more recipes should be up on this blog soon!

Capezio Contemporas Review

Hello! So a few of my friends from my dance studio were raving about these pointe shoes. Naturally, I wanted to give them a try. When I went to try them on, they felt really nice and they looked good without even having broken them in yet. They are a nice pink, which I like, but they didn't go as well with my tights (funny reason I know), so that was a minor issue for me. After dancing in them for a couple of weeks, I had blisters and bruised toenails like you wouldn't believe! I have never encountered this problem before in a pair of pointe shoes. My previous pair, Grishko 2007s, were wonderful looking on my feet, and they fit really well, but I was having troubles with the boxiness of the, well, box. These Capezio shoes looked more slim, but they were a bit restricting in that area. On a brighter note, they didn't hurt my toes (I'm such a wimp), and they looked beautiful for a long time. They lasted about three months, as I was only dancing about once a week for a while. The price was quite reasonable as well! I was surprised at the counter, they only cost about $80.

Much love,\

Welcome everyone!

Recipe-Healthy Vegetable Stir-Fry

To start off, I made up a batch of natural brown rice. We have loads of this in my home, so it was easy and handy to just grab and make up.  As for material to "fry" your vegetables in, I recommend using coconut oil, the healthiest option possible to me. As we were out of coconut oil, I opted for vegetable shortening. After heating up the pan and adding in my frying material, I chopped up some broccoli stems, carrots, red, orange and yellow bell peppers, and some celery. Be mindful as to how long the broccoli and carrots need to cook so that you don't have tender veggies and blackened peppers! I made that mistake one too many times, oops. :) For extra flavor, I added some orange peels and split peas. These are completely optional, and feel free to change any of the ingredients I have mentioned. As for seasonings, I went simple with some rosemary sprigs, dill weed, and crushed basil leaves. These blended together with the vegetables for an excellent flavor!
